Philippines Privacy Notice

Privacy is part of the method.

This notice governs the Philippines edition and Global Filipino studies when Philippine data-protection law applies.

Personal information controller

Demosight’s final Illinois legal name, registered address, Data Protection Officer, dedicated DPO email, and Philippine contact channel will be published after formation and NPC registration. The Philippine edition cannot pass its public-release gate before those records exist.

Information collected

The initial founding study does not request a name or email. We collect a random internal participant identifier, adult eligibility, versioned consent, Philippine region or broad overseas residence, OFW or diaspora categories when relevant, demographic and economic categories, survey answers, participation history, declared recruitment attribution, limited paradata, quality outcomes, and rights requests. Name and email are collected only if a participant later chooses to join the ongoing panel.

Identity separation and reporting

Optional panel contact details are stored in a restricted identity record for access, consent, duplicate prevention, support, security, and privacy-rights requests. Research answers use an internal participant identifier. Names, email addresses, contact details, and named individual responses are not included in public reports, client deliverables, dashboards, or downloadable research results. Released findings are de-identified and aggregated, and small result cells are suppressed.

Sensitive information and profiling

Political affiliation, health, religion, ethnicity, and comparable sensitive subjects are not default panel requirements. A study requiring them must document necessity, lawful basis, explicit consent where required, access restrictions, retention, safety review, and publication limits. Respondent-quality and eligibility automation is registered and auditable; consequential decisions receive human review.

Purposes and lawful basis

Data is processed for consented research participation, panel administration, study eligibility, sample evaluation, quality protection, aggregate reporting, security, and legal compliance. Optional recontact consent is separate. Demosight does not treat research consent as permission for advertising.

Cross-border processing

Information may be processed or stored outside the Philippines by approved service providers. Demosight remains accountable, documents each transfer and recipient category, applies contractual and technical safeguards, and identifies transfers in its NPC registration records.

Your rights

Participants can request access, correction, objection, withdrawal, deletion or blocking review, portability where applicable, and human review of qualifying automated decisions through their panel privacy controls or the published DPO channel.

Retention, security, and breach handling

Each data class receives a defined retention and disposal rule. Demosight maintains organizational, physical, and technical security controls, an annual security-incident register, breach assessment and notification procedures, and evidence needed for National Privacy Commission compliance.

OFWs and diaspora

We do not ask for visa or documentation status, exact overseas address, employer, recruiter, vessel, passport number, or placement-agency records. Refusal to participate cannot affect employment, immigration, consular, or public-service access.
