Beyond the shoreline

Filipino life
is global.

Wherever Filipinos live, they belong in the evidence. Demosight is building dedicated research frames for OFWs and the wider diaspora—without folding them into a misleading “national” number.

01

Philippine residents

Adults currently living in the Philippines. This is the frame used for a Philippine resident-population estimate.

02

Current OFWs

Land-based workers, sea-based workers, and people between overseas contracts—analyzed by destination and work context.

03

Wider diaspora

Long-term migrants, dual or naturalized citizens, students, family members, and later generations with a Filipino connection.

04

Returnees

Former OFWs now living in the Philippines, retained as a distinct experience within the resident frame.

One non-negotiable rule

Different populations.
Different denominators.

A Philippine resident estimate never silently includes people living abroad.

An OFW estimate defines contract status and destinations. A wider-diaspora estimate defines which migration connections and generations are eligible. A combined Global Filipino view is only produced when that combined population is declared in advance, with each frame’s contribution and limitations visible.

Open-link responses remain participation totals. Population claims require a governed sample plan, appropriate benchmarks, quality review, weighting diagnostics, uncertainty, and publication review for that exact population.

Representation profile

Enough context to understand.
Never enough to expose.

Cross-border human signals

Representation can become responsible foresight.

01

Households & remittances

Track confidence, remittance behavior, financial needs, and pressure across destinations and Philippine home regions.

02

Return & mobility

Understand return intentions, travel demand, reintegration needs, and the conditions that shift plans.

03

Cross-border markets

Measure media, commerce, service, and brand demand by defined aggregate segments—never by selling respondent identities.

04

Public service

Surface the needs of workers, families, seafarers, students, and long-term migrants for institutions that serve them.

Standards basis

Public definitions inform the frame. They do not replace the frame.

The Philippine Statistics Authority’s Survey on Overseas Filipinos provides a household-survey view of recent overseas work. Department of Migrant Workers statistics provide administrative deployment detail. The Commission on Filipinos Overseas compendium documents broader migration categories.

None alone covers every Filipino abroad. Demosight will disclose which source, date, population, exclusions, and calibration decisions support each study instead of presenting one dataset as a universal diaspora benchmark.
